Gulet Cruise Sept 2026
Pargas

Participants: Kev & Tam

After our evening on land in Gaios we returned to the boat in the morning for breakfast after which we set sail again for Pargas back on the mainland. There was no stop for swimming today as the crossing was a little bumpy, but not too bad. We arrived in Pargas and moored up before we enjoyed lunch. The bay we were in had a couple of beaches, but most of the bars and restaurants were just around the headland in another bay.

We arrived fairly early. By the end of the day there were many more boats moored up.

After a bit of a relax Tam and I showered and got ready for our evening out. There was a water taxi that picked you up to transport you to the next bay at a cost of 4 Euro each way. As we approached the port we remarked that parts of it reminded us of the Amalfi coast especially Positano.

This is Moussa. He had a few hours off and joined us on the water taxi.

As we stepped off the water taxi we met up with Caz and she joined us for the evening. We had a little walk around before heading up the hill to a cocktail bar we'd read about. We had to wait for a few minutes as it was just about to open, but the views and drinks were worth it.

We continued up the hill to the Pargas Distillery which is the restaurant we'd booked for the evening. This proved to be a good choice. The views over the bay back towards where our boat was moored were lovely and the food and service also really good.

Fish again! Eating here as the sun set was just what we had hoped it would be.

After our meal we walked back down into the town where we had a drink in a bar and had a bit more of a wander round before getting the water taxi back. At least we did eventually as we first got on the wrong boat that only went to the next bay rather than the moored up boats, so we had to ride back with them again in order to catch the correct taxi. Even that was quite fun as they stopped off at various boats dropping people off before we arrived back at the Atlantis.

As we were moored in open water they had to run the engines all night, so Tam and I slept up on the deck. It was actually cold that night - up to yet it had been in the mid 20's all night. We were wrapped up as best we could and it was certainly better than the loud fumey cabin.
