Gulet Cruise Sept 2026
Sivota

Participants: Kev & Tam

Sivota was our last port of call (back on the mainland) except our final day in Corfu which I've already covered. On our sail over we again stopped for a swim at a small beach with a cave beside it. The boat had a small dinghy and they used this to ferry us to the beach going into the small cave first.

This wasn't the little cave. This was one we passed by on our sail.

That's more like my size cave.

Looking back from the cave. The M S Atlantis is on the right.

Back on the boat we had lunch and Moussa got people dancing to Egyptian tunes again while I did my best to stay out of it sunbathing on the front of the ship.

We sailed on to Sivota where we moored up bang in the centre of town. It intrigued me to watch every time they dropped the anchor. It was quite a performance and the anchor itself is quite a long way from the boat. Apparantly the chain is every bit as important as the anchor itself and the weight of all that chain lying on the seabed helps the boat to stay in position.

After showering we got off the boat and met up with Caz for a drink. As we sat there more and more of our fellow passengers walked by and joined us until we had quite a party. After another drink we picked a restaurant for the evening.

The bar we all sat at.

And the restaurant we ate at.

Tam and I both had the Chicken Souvlaki. Very nice it was too. Sometimes just a plain meal is just what is required.

The next morning Tam and I went on a little stroll before the boat sailed back to Corfu.

This shows just how in the centre of the town we were. It was one of the best things about the cruise. Just strolling back onto the boat at the end of the night was lovely. Not so lovely when back on board and trying to sleep.
