Day 17 - Fri 5th Apr 2024
Participants: Tam & Kev
We have 2 sea days left before the end of our cruise and we're up at 7.00 am. It's getting cooler as we head further north, but still pleasant as it's 20 degrees C and light cloud.
We go the Botticelli Restaurant for breakfast (or as I like to call it the Jelly Botty Restaurant) where I have an omelette with bacon and hash browns before we go to the theatre for a presentation on the stage shows and entertainment staff.
This is Tam's healthy breakfast.
There's a tiny mini-golf course on the top deck and we play 6 holes before deciding that perhaps neither of us is cut out to be the next Tiger Woods.
Ah, I can see where you're going wrong. You're supposed to look at the ball when you hit it.
We sit on deck for a while and I have a Mudslide and Tam gets a Gin and Tonic.
A fine manly drink.
We also order a
club sandwich to be delivered to where we're sitting, but it
doesn't turn up so Tam has to go off looking for it. The delivery
anywhere on the ship when ordering from the app is a good idea in
practice, but just doesn't work well enough in reality.
We look for an area without too much breeze and to our surprise
the spa pool is empty.
After a couple of hours we go back to shower and then we're out to Crooners for a glass of Chardonnay.
We're back to the Jelly Botty again for our evening meal and have to line up to wait for a table. We see Evelyn and Fern (from our trip in Cartagena) in the queue and they ask if we'd like to join them. We do and I have lobster bisque, duck with cherry sauce and a baked potato. The ladies are very good company and we have an enjoyable meal discussing many things.
Back to the
Wheelhouse Bar for another glass of Chardonnay where the steel
drummer is in full flow. This guy must work really hard, he seems
to be everywhere.
Over to Club Fusion to watch the comedian who is ok before ending
in the evening at the International Cafe for a coffee.
Bed at 12.15 am - that's positively late for this holiday.
